Amy is 21!

Amy is 21!

After a long Monday at school, we finished at 6:30 and quickly headed to Shinjuku to celebrate the 21st Birthday of own our new close friends Amy! We walked to a popular Izakaya (Japanese style pub) and ordered possibly the most unhealthy items/most non-Japanese items on the menu…Pizza, Hot Chips (or as we now call them ‘French Fries’), Fried Chicken and, of course, some drinks. Beer and Orange Sour’s were the popular choices.

Then, with the arrival of Amy’s brother and quality 21st birthday decorations, the night began to escalate, seriously fast.

However many drinks in, out came the phone and some shocking selfies, lots of laughter and several requests for us to be quiet. A few more drinks in and I was coming home with a temporary One Direction half sleeve. Thanks Alicia, the upside down one was my favourite, I think you have a future in the tattoo business.

Realising it was around 10.30pm and we had school the next day, we quickly finished our Orange Sour’s – the Vitamin C’s levels are super high now, right Jamie? – and we headed home. Sweaty, Tired, Full, Not so sober. It was so nice to get into bed.

The next day, my head was hurting, obviously the sign of a good night. Can’t wait to celebrate some more birthdays at the end of the month!

Bring it on,

Adventures with the American.

With one of my newest friends Elissia, today I headed out to see the giant Buddha located in Yokohama Japan!

After a long train trip we arrived. Along with A L O T of other people. Unfazed we jumped on a small tram like transport system and headed out into Yokohama. A short walk led us to the Giant Buddha. Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

After taking about 1000 photos and a couple of hundred selfies (maybe that was just me), Elissia suggested we head to Enoshima.

Located along the coastal, beach region of Japan, i’d never been to Enoshima before and was definitely looking forward to going somewhere new!

The beaches were beautiful…..well for Japanese standards. It’s hard not to be critical of beaches when you’ve grown up in Australia with it’s bright blue water, bright sand and coastal breeze. Whilst the beaches at Enoshima didn’t exactly have surf and may have had black sand, it was still a welcome change from the consistent hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

Elissia and I were absolutely exhausted but we kept exploring and stumbled across ‘Dr. Fish’ – those little fish that eat the dead skin from your feet. The most bizarre feeling ever!

Before we knew it, it was 5pm and decided an ultra-late lunch and super-early dinner was the best decision. To say we were over-tired would be an understatement.

After eating we got some ‘candid’ shots by the beach during sunset and decided to head back home.

Don’t know what it is about this girl but I always have the best time exploring Japan with her and return home absolutely exhausted and ready to crash out for the night.

Thanks for the great day Elissia, can’t wait to see where we head too next!
